The short version

Sweet TEA keeps everything in your browser. It sends nothing to the publisher, because the publisher operates no servers and receives no data. It has no analytics, no telemetry and no accounts.

Where the extension runs

Only on pages under tea.state.tx.us and tea.texas.gov. It has no access to any other website you visit and does not run there.

What the extension handles

Page content on TEA sites. To do its job the extension reads parts of the TEA page you are already looking at: the district field in eGrants and EMAT, the grant title on a Grant Opportunities page, and the session-timeout value TEAL prints into its own page script. It reads these in order to draw its controls on the page. It does not record, store or transmit them.

The district you choose. When you pick a district in the eGrants search box or the EMAT district switcher, the extension fills TEA's own form field with it and, in EMAT, submits TEA's own form — exactly as if you had typed it. The EMAT picker also asks EMAT for the list of districts your account may view, using the same request EMAT's own lookup makes. That traffic goes only to TEA.

Keep-alive settings. Whether "Stay logged in" is on, the duration you chose, whether the countdown badge is shown, and the date you acknowledged the security tradeoff. Held in the browser's extension storage on your device.

Keep-alive requests. While "Stay logged in" is on, the extension periodically simulates activity on the TEAL page and re-requests the TEAL portal page in the background. That request is made by your browser to TEA with your existing TEA session, the same as if you had refreshed the page. The extension never sees, stores or transmits your TEA username, password or session cookie.

Grant link list. The "Copy Link to Grant" button matches grant titles against a list of grant names and URLs that the publisher maintains in a public Google Sheet. The extension downloads that sheet from docs.google.com without any credentials and keeps a copy in extension storage so it does not have to fetch it every time. Nothing about you is sent with that request beyond what any web download carries.

Clipboard. When you click "Copy Link to Grant", the extension writes a URL to your clipboard. It never reads the clipboard.

Where it goes

Nowhere. Everything listed above stays on your device, except the requests your browser makes to TEA (with your own session) and the anonymous download of the grant list from Google.

There is no publisher-operated backend. No analytics, telemetry, tracking, advertising or fingerprinting of any kind. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.

About "Stay logged in"

This feature holds your TEAL session open past TEA's normal idle timeout. It is off by default. The first time you switch it on, the extension explains that this is less secure than TEA's default and asks you to confirm. It runs for a bounded period you choose — 30 minutes, 2 hours, or until you close your TEA tabs — and cannot be set to run indefinitely. It only acts on your own session, in your own browser, on TEA pages.

Retention and deletion

The extension keeps only the settings and the cached grant list described above. Removing the extension from your browser deletes both. The cached grant list is refreshed automatically and replaced each time.

Security

The extension requests access only to TEA's two web domains and to docs.google.com (for the grant list). It contains no remotely loaded code: everything it runs ships in the package you install from the store.

Children

Sweet TEA is a professional tool for school and agency staff, not directed at children, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
